Privacy
1. About this policy
Million Moments is a participatory digital art project and public archive. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be processed when you visit the website, submit a moment, make a payment or contact us.
2. What we collect
When you submit a moment, we process the name or nickname and message you choose to provide. We may also process technical information generated when you use the website, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, requests and server logs. When you make a payment, Million Moments stores information needed to verify and record the transaction, such as payment status and SumUp transaction identifiers. Payments are processed through SumUp. Million Moments does not receive or store your complete card or bank details. If you contact us, we process the information contained in your message and the contact information you provide.
3. Your public moment
Million Moments is designed as a public and permanent archive. The name or nickname and message you submit are intended to be displayed publicly on the Million Moments Wall. Do not submit information that you do not want to make public, including private information about another person. When the project reaches one million moments, submitted moments are also intended to become part of the physical Book of Memories and time capsule described on the website. Because permanence is fundamental to the project, published moments are not intended to be routinely edited or deleted. Content may nevertheless be restricted, corrected or removed where required by applicable law, data-protection obligations, safety requirements or the rights of others.
4. Why we process information
Information may be processed to operate Million Moments, publish and preserve submitted moments, process and verify payments, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate submissions, maintain website security, respond to enquiries, comply with legal obligations and create the physical archive described by the project.
5. Services and third parties
We use service providers where necessary to operate the project. These may include payment processing, hosting, infrastructure, database and security providers. SumUp processes information in connection with payments according to its own privacy practices. Some service providers may process information outside Switzerland. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with applicable data-protection law.
6. How long information is kept
Published moments are intended to remain part of the Million Moments archive permanently, subject to applicable law. Transaction, accounting, security and technical records may be retained for as long as necessary for their respective purposes and applicable legal retention requirements. Contact correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant enquiry or legal purpose.
7. Who is responsible
Million Moments is operated by JD Design, Switzerland. Privacy enquiries can be sent to hello@millionmoments.art.
8. Your rights
Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to request information about data being processed, correction of inaccurate information, deletion in appropriate circumstances and other rights provided by applicable law. Requests can be sent to hello@millionmoments.art. The permanent artistic nature of Million Moments does not override rights or obligations that apply under data-protection law.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies necessary for operation, security and payment functionality. Third-party services such as SumUp may also use their own technologies when their services are used. More information is available in the Cookie Policy.
10. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the project, its technology or applicable legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this website.
