Terms
1. About Million Moments
Million Moments is a participatory digital art project and public archive operated by JD Design, Switzerland. The project aims to collect one million moments from people around the world and preserve them as a public digital archive and, when the project reaches one million moments, as a physical Book of Memories and time capsule.
2. Participation
By submitting a moment and completing payment, you agree to these Terms. You may submit a name or nickname together with a short message describing the moment you want to preserve. You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring that you have the right to submit and publish it.
3. Your public moment
Million Moments is designed as a public and permanent archive. Your submitted name or nickname and message are intended to be displayed publicly on the Million Moments Wall. Do not submit confidential information, sensitive personal information, or private information about another person that you do not have the right to make public.
4. Payment
Participation starts at 1 CHF per submitted moment. You may choose to contribute a higher amount, but this does not change the size, position, priority or permanence of your moment. Payment is required before a moment is published on the Million Moments Wall. Payments are processed through SumUp. Payments are non-refundable once a moment has been successfully published, except where required by applicable law. If you experience a payment or technical problem, please contact hello@millionmoments.art.
5. Publication and permanent number
After successful payment and publication, each moment receives a unique permanent number in the Million Moments archive. Published moments are intended to remain part of the archive permanently. The permanent number is part of the historical structure of the project and is not intended to be reused or reassigned.
6. Content rules
You must not submit content that is unlawful, threatening, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, fraudulent, intentionally harmful, or that unlawfully infringes the rights, privacy or intellectual property of another person. Automated systems and other moderation measures may be used to prevent clearly inappropriate or abusive submissions before publication.
7. Moderation and removal
Million Moments is intended to preserve submitted moments rather than routinely edit or delete them. However, Million Moments may restrict, hide, correct or remove content where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect the rights or safety of others, address misuse of the service, or protect the integrity and operation of the project. Hiding or restricting a published moment does not necessarily cause its permanent archive number to be reassigned.
8. Physical archive and time capsule
When Million Moments reaches one million moments, the project intends to create a physical archive containing the submitted moments and preserve it in a time capsule as described on the website. The precise format, materials, production method, location and practical implementation of the physical archive may change as the project develops. Such changes do not alter the core purpose of preserving the collected moments as part of the Million Moments project.
9. Project availability and changes
Million Moments may be updated, maintained, temporarily unavailable or modified as necessary for technical, operational, security, legal or project-related reasons. Features, presentation and technical infrastructure may evolve over time while the project develops.
10. Liability
Million Moments is provided with reasonable care, but uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, JD Design is not responsible for losses resulting from circumstances outside its reasonable control, third-party services, temporary technical interruptions or misuse of the website by users. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
11. Privacy
Information relating to participants and website visitors is processed as described in the Million Moments Privacy Policy.
12. Operator and contact

13. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that may apply under the law applicable to you.
14. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated when the project, its technology, services or applicable legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this website.
